Designer Profile: Arne Emil Jacobsen

Arne Emil Jacobsen Bio:
Danish architect Jacobsen is an exemplar of the 'Danish Modern' style, whose work was inspired by Le Corbusier and Mies van der Rohe (whom he met at exhibitions in Germany and Paris). Le Corbusier and Rohe had a huge effect on Jacobsen's work, which is evident in the first houses that he built, that caused wide spread sensation thanks to the ingenious design of housing with staggering perspectives which gave all apartments an equally good view and share of sun light. From a furniture perspective, Jacobsen is most renowned for his Egg and Swan Chairs which he designed for the Radisson SAS Hotel in Copenhagen.
