Bio:
Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, born in 1886 in Germany and moved to the United States in 1937 is one of the pioneering fathers of modern architecture thanks to his philosophy of 'less is more' when it comes to design. Mies belief in minimalism and rationalism resulted in some of the most popular furniture designs to come out of the 20th century such as the Barcelona Chair. Many praised his work for being in its most pure form which such minimalistic designs. A true icon!
